Eugene Daniel Trescott. Westlake: On Sunday, March 29, 2015, Eugene Daniel Trescott passed away peacefully after a long illness. He was 90 years old. Predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Archer), Gene is survived by his son David, sister Mary Ellen Urzetta, brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Voigt and Beverly Archer, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Archer), Gene is survived by his son David, sister Mary Ellen Urzetta, brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Voigt and Beverly Archer, and many nieces and nephews.
A WWII veteran, Gene served as a Lieutenant in the US Army Transportation Corp in Alaska. After the war, he returned to Niagara University to complete his degree in Economics and went on to a long career in industrial sales and manufacturing. He retired as National Sales Manager for two divisions of Standard Products Co. (now Cooper Tire and Rubber).
Gene's lifetime of volunteerism began when he coached basketball for the CYO youth league in his hometown of East Rochester, New York, and continued when he became an Assistant Scoutmaster for his son's Boy Scout troop in the 1960's. In the decades that followed, Gene's service to the BSA continued to grow. He served as a Greater Cleveland Council Executive Board member, Vice President of Cub Scouting, and Council Commissioner as well as Vice President for the East Central Region. Gene was a recipient of the Silver Beaver (local) and Silver Antelope (regional) awards.
